Broadspec Pipe

Orrcon Steel distribution stocks the BROADSPEC® range of API certified HFW line pipe throughout its national DC and branch footprint.  BROADSPEC® line pipe is Orrcon Steel’s range of large diameter CHS for pressure pipe applications ranging from 168.3mm to 457mm in diameter and has been specified so it is deemed to comply with no less than 3 individual pipe specifications.  The mechanical and chemical properties and testing regime specified allows Orrcon Steel’s line pipe stock of large diameter fluid and pressure pipe to be used across a broad range of applications and comply with requirements specified in the mining, oil, gas, water, waste water and fire protection industries.

BROADSPEC® range of API certified HFW line pipe complies with multiple industry standards.  Developed by metallurgists and engineers in conjunction with national and international steel pipe suppliers, BROADSPEC® meets API 5L, ASTM A53 and AS/NZS 1163 material standards. This allows BROADSPEC® to be used across multiple pressure and structural applications, including: oil, gas and process piping to structural tubulars in commercial buildings, marinas and sporting arenas.

BROADSPEC® presents an economical solution for pressure pipe and structural steel consumers looking to optimise stock and utilise across multiple end-use applications.  It may also reduce the risk of supplying steel pipe to the wrong specification and simplify the tender process. BROADSPEC® steel has been developed with unique mechanical and chemical properties and a rigorous processing and testing system.  This allows Orrcon Steel to stock pressure pipe ranging from 168.3mm to 457mm in diameter, pipe sizes outside this range can also be sourced on enquiry.

Orrcon Steel BROADSPEC® line pipe covers the following Australian and international standards: API 5L X42, ASTM A53, AS/NZS 1163.  BROADSPEC® meets the design rules as specified in AS 4041, AS 2118/4118 and AS 1579.
